When you find something that works, it’s in your best interest to keep doing it.
King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp and his wife Toyah have been busy since the covid lockdown. The couple has produced dozens of videos; some musically inspired, and other just flat out wacky.
Last week, the husband and wife team posted a cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” and it quickly went viral…largely due to Mrs. Fripps’s choice of clothing…or lack thereof. Her transparent top led to instant clicks for thousands of (mostly male) internet surfers, many of whom don’t know a thing about the duo’s history…or especially that Robert happens to be a guitar icon.
The video far surpassed views of any previous clips that the two have uploaded, and they definitely took notice. The Fripps are not taking themselves too seriously; in fact they are capitalizing on the sudden attention.
Robert (74) and Toyah (62) are having a good ‘ol time in their senior years acting like kids. For an old-ish woman, Toyah has a ton of energy which she further displays in this week’s clip.
Instead of an exercise bike, this week Toyah elects to brandish some pompoms and a cheerleader’s outfit while singing…and, well…cheering. But she’s no dummy, so she made sure to emphasize the thing(s) that got everyone’s attention last time around.
There may or may not be a couple of things fake about this pair, but the fun they’re having is definitely real. Watch the cover of Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” below.
