“Christmas Time Is Here” Vince Guaraldi Cover by Daniela Andrade—Video of the Week 11/30/20

by | Nov 30, 2020 | Video Of The Week

For this month with our weekly feature we’re going to focus on music that celebrates the holiday season, and we can think of no better way to kick it off than with this holiday classic written by Vince Guaraldi in 1965 for A Charlie Brown Christmas.

“Christmas Time is Here” has been covered by dozens of artists in many different ways, but out favorite is the pick for Video of the Week by a young lady from Canada named Daniela Andrade. This now 28 year-old singer has also been playing guitar for 15 years and has racked up nearly 2 million subscribers on her YouTube channel which includes dozens of unique takes on popular songs as well as a host of her originals.

Released in 2014, Andrade’s take on this yuletide classic has been viewed over 7 million times, and is one of the sweetest videos you’ll ever see. The clip features Andrade in her bedroom with festive lights adorning the background while she plays guitar and sings live. The rawness of the video and her impeccable pitch and gorgeous tone make this one of the best covers you’ll ever hear of this song.

But the real star of the show has nothing to do with the music. While Andrade plays a flawless take, the scene stealer throughout is the cutest dog you’ll ever see. Starting out the video, her four-legged furry friend gives Andrade attention while not disrupting her flow. As the song progresses, her pet settles down and lays quietly on the bed, making the viewer feel right at home with Daniela. Watch the clip below, and if this doesn’t move you, better check your pulse.
